‼️The Prince George's County Public Schools School Based Health Centers operated by Children's National are open and ready for ALL PGCPS students! But just like the telehealth option, Hazel Health, the online parental consent forms are needed.

There are 3 school based Health Centers in the District 3 School Board/District 2 County Council map. This area of the County has been in desperate need of affordable health clinics. The Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. (open during lunch periods). Students can also be seen via telehealth. An on-call physician is available when the SBHCs are closed.

🏈⚽️🥍🏀⚾️🏐🎾Parents of student athletes, you can finally have your athlete receive their required physical in a PGCPS health facility. Over the years, I have met many Middle School and High School students who missed their chance at team sports because they could not access an affordable and timely physical.

1️⃣ Step 1: Register by filling out both forms. The student does not have to have health insurance. If the student does, be ready to spend time filling out the information.

Preparing students to own their future today and in their careers is Priority #1 of the Prince George's County Public Schools Climate Change Action Plan (CCAP).

We are grateful to the Neighborhood Design Center Prince George’s County team for partnering with students, Science Department Chair Ms. Anupama Mahajan, and the educators of Central High School (Capitol Heights, MD) to design green infrastructure for stormwater management. Their program is now amplified in a Toolkit for all schools. Download here: https://lnkd.in/effH_bCT

Around the nation, summer is the time when public school systems operations teams go into action with the bigger projects that improve indoor air quality for students and staff. In Prince George's County Public Schools, aging infrastructure has made this a monumental task, but the Environmental services team monitors and mitigates all year long.

PGCPS is now part of an incredible network of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) experts through the The National School Boards Association & Go Green Initiative. We look forward to this session with U.S. EPA on August 11th that will offer case studies of effective policy, planning, and implementation.

Maryland Association of Boards of Education Climate Parents PGMD

How do you convince a school board to fund air quality upgrades when budgets are already stretched to the limit? 🏫💡

Managing indoor air quality (IAQ) isn't just a facilities issue—it directly impacts student health, attendance, test performance, and teacher retention. But getting district-wide buy-in and funding can feel like an uphill battle.

Join the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on Tuesday, August 11 for a practical, webinar with district leaders who have successfully navigated this exact challenge.

Featured Speakers & School Districts:
Honored by the 2026 NSBA Magna Awards, leaders from these three districts will share their real-world strategies:
🔹 East St. Louis School District 189 (Illinois)
🔹 Salamanca City Central School District (New York)
🔹 Prince George's County Public Schools (Maryland)

What you’ll learn:
✔️ How to build a strong policy and budget case your school board will approve
✔️ Practical ways to link IAQ upgrades directly to long-term energy savings
✔️ Replicable steps for cross-functional teams, ventilation improvements, and walkthroughs
✔️ How to leverage free EPA tools, technical assistance, and funding resources

If your district is trying to make the case for healthier, more energy-efficient schools, this session is worth your time.
