The BLADENSBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT proudly hosted the 2026 Bladensburg Police Explorers Post 1745 Awards Ceremony today, recognizing the dedication, leadership, and achievements of our outstanding Explorers.

We are incredibly proud of each Explorer for their hard work and commitment to serving the community. During the ceremony, Explorers were recognized with certificates, promotional awards, and promotion pins in honor of their accomplishments and continued growth within the program.

Congratulations to all of our Explorers on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you for your dedication to leadership, service, and excellence. The future is bright for these young leaders!

Get ready to stomp, roar, and explore! Join us for an action-packed program where the ancient world of dinosaurs comes to lifeโ€”literally! Families will journey back in time through cool dino facts, see fossils, and get an up-close look at real live reptiles and birdsโ€”the modern cousins of the mighty prehistoric giants.

Meet gentle lizards, birds, snakes, and other prehistoric ambassadors that have been around since dino times! Come learn, laugh, and maybe even make a new reptile friend!

Space is limited, and there may not be enough room to accommodate camps or large groups. Please call ahead to check availability before visiting.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Juneteenth: Paint & Unity yesterday!

A special thank you to our Public Works Department for building the 10 benches that served as blank canvases for this community art project. Together, residents transformed them into colorful works of art that reflect the creativity, unity, and spirit of Bladensburg.

Now itโ€™s your turn to help decide where these benches will be placed throughout town!

Do you know a place or space that could use additional seating? Drop your suggestions in the comments below and let us know where youโ€™d like to see these community-created benches installed.
