Due to unforeseen circumstances, the kids library program for tomorrow, 4/25 has been cancelled. The book sale is still going on! Also, watch for fliers for our kids summer program. This year's theme is "How it's made."

Everyone will find books in great condition during our book sale this week for National Library week, and the cost is up to you! We just ask for a donation to the Community Library of Western Perry County.

There are biographies, kids' books, Christian romance, nonfiction and fiction, mysteries, how-to manuals, DVDs and much more!

Big thanks to all the players, bakers and volunteers from our last Cake Bingo tonight.

There was fresh rolls, fudge, cakes, pies, whoopie pies, cookies and more. I love where we live because we come together to get things done!

Raised money for library? Check.
Had a fun evening with friends? Check.
Enjoyed yummy snacks? Check.

See everyone at Bingo tonight! Cake donors may drop off your cakes anytime after lunchtime at the Fire Hall.

A generous friend of the library donated this beautiful, tiger oak, serpentine front dresser for sale to benefit the library. It is now located at a Board member's house in Landisburg. The dresser was purchased and refinished in Blain about 20-25 years ago.

We will accept bids below or by private message until this Tuesday, and the dresser will go to the highest bidder! Bid generously as every penny goes to the library. Payment by check to the Community Library of Western Perry County.

Our last Cake Bingo is tomorrow night (Friday) at 7pm at the Blain Fire Hall!

Please come to play and/or donate a cake, pie, fudge, bread for prizes.

We appreciate the community's support. The proceeds help to pay our bills. We appreciate the Blain Fire Company's ongoing support in allowing us to use their space.

Check out the upcoming free ranger programs at our library. Bring on learning, laughs and activities about spiders and beavers!

Spring has sprung at Colonel Denning State Park! We have some exciting public program offerings to kick off the season.

🥾Every Saturday in April, there will be a public program, great for kids and adults alike!

🦋We will be offering TWO Homeschool Learning Days at the park in April on Thursday 4/16 at COLONEL DENNING SP and Thursday 4/30 at FOWLERS HOLLOW SP. These events are open to all families with children, recommended for children K-5, though older kids are welcome! Please register online in advance; this is a free event.

📖Lastly, we are partnering with the Community Library of Western Perry County to host a Ranger Storytime Series starting in April. Our April dates are Wed. 4/1 and Wed. 4/8. Storytimes will be held at the library in Blain in the upstairs classroom area. Registration is not required; this is a free event.

Can't make one of our programs but still want to come out and enjoy the park? Try one of our self-guided activities!

🗺️Junior Ranger Program - Grab a booklet from the Office and explore the park and our map to find the answers. Bring your completed booklet back to the office to be sworn in as a Junior Ranger and get your badge!

🧭Orienteering - Start at our Orienteering Info Board just off the parking lot at Flat Rock Trailhead. Read the board to learn how to get started. Choose which course you want to do, beginner, intermediate, or advanced. Bring your own compass or visit the office to sign one out for the day! Must be returned by 4pm.

🎒Nature Exploration Backpacks - Stop by the office and sign out one of our Nature Exploration Backpacks to encourage the kiddos to explore! These backpacks include activities and educational tools for making observations around the park. Topics to pick from include Insects, Plants/Trees, Birds, or Rocks & Minerals. Must be returned to Park Office by 4pm. More info to come, stay tuned!
