Yesterday, Blaine officers were requested to assist the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office with an active shooting in Birch Bay. Multiple Blaine Officers responded to assist and helped in the investigation and apprehension of one of the suspects.

This incident highlights the importance of teamwork from the multiple agencies involved in critical incidents like this.

We would also like to point out the amazing work from our dispatchers at Whatcom County 911. Their calm voices handled numerous 911 calls and provided critical suspect information for law enforcement.

Tomorrow is the big day. School is back in session for all of our Blaine !! We cannot wait for another fun and safe school year. Blaine School District, WA

Drivers - remember the speed limit during school zone times is 20 mph. Luckily, there are flashing lights to help remind you. Also, pay attention and follow the directions of school crossing guards.

Pedestrians - remember to look both ways when crossing the street, and use marked crosswalks.

Yesterday, Officers Chau, Richardson, and Dimezza had a great time representing Blaine PD at the Blaine School District’s Block Party! Officer Chau even took a turn at the dunk tank! What a great way to celebrate the return to school.

Tonight, Sgt Maphumulo noticed a small doggo running in traffic on SR 543 North of H Street. After a brief foot pursuit through some woods, the pupper was apprehended by Officer Haggith and released to our friends at the Whatcom Humane Society.
