While flooding will be a concern in the watch (green) area today and tonight, we are particularly concerned about the area bounded by the yellow dashed lines. Several rounds of rain have already fallen in this area and more are on the way.

10/14/2026

Several more rounds of rain are expected over the next few days, which will lead to areas of flooding, especially along the I-40 and I-44 corridors. We've already seen 3 to 6 inches between El Reno and Elk City over the last 6 hours. Watch for flooded roadways and turn around.

10/14/2026

9:45 PM- A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for portions of Caddo, Canadian, & Grady Counties until 10:30 PM. This includes the west side of the OKC metro. The primary threat is wind gusts to 60 MPH.

10/13/2026

A Flood Watch has been issued for portions of western into central OK and western north TX beginning tomorrow morning through Thursday afternoon. Rainfall amounts of 1-3" will be common with isolated amounts over 4-5" possible.

10/13/2026

Potential for heavy rain and flooding continues to increase Wednesday and Thursday, especially in areas in orange where multiple rounds of heavy thunderstorms could lead to localized totals of 3-6" by the time things taper off Thursday evening.

Blanchard currently has seven Outdoor Warning Devices. They are individually located at:

- N Main & 10th Street (Masonic Lodge)
- SW 2nd Street & S Monroe (S of Fire Station 1)
- Hwy 76 & Cedar Ln
- NW 55th & Quail Ridge Rd
- 7th Street & Hackney Ln
- NE 70th & 1/8 mile W of Persimmon Rd
- NE 10th & Hunt Club Rd

Note that these devices are designed specifically to alert people who are outdoors to seek shelter, and are not intended to be heard indoors. We always encourage citizens to remain weather aware and rely on multiple methods for emergency alerts.

Regarding our testing schedule:

- Sirens are tested on Wednesdays at noon during the spring and fall storm seasons.
- We do not test them regularly during the summer or when there is no risk of inclement weather. This is to help prevent ware and tear on the devices. Instead we do a “bump” test on each siren to verify it is operating correctly.
- Tests are canceled if the weather is overcast, if it is raining, or if storms are possible, to avoid causing confusion or unnecessary alarm to Blanchard citizens. Instead, to ensure they are functioning properly, we do a “bump” test on each siren.

The Outdoor Warning Device map below shows siren location, as well as the areas they serve.
