BLANCHESTER, Ohio — Seven people were displaced Wednesday evening after a fire damaged a home on East John Street, according to the Blanchester Marion Township Fire Department.

Blanchester EMS, Blanchester Police Department and Blanchester Marion Township Fire Department are set up at the festival at the corner of Main St and Wall St in the grass. This is also a 1st Aid booth for the festival if anyone needs anything! Come see us!

All surrounding fire and ems departments are invited to the annual Blanchester 4th of July parade line up for fire and ems is at the Krogers on Cherry St Line up starts at 10am Parade starts at 11am.

The Blanchester Chamber Of Commerce 's July Fourth Festival begins TOMORROW!

Downtown road closures will take effect tomorrow, July 2, beginning at 12pm, and street parking will be restricted. The festival hours are:

-July 2, 5pm-10pm
-July 3, 4pm-11pm
-July 4, 12pm-6pm (Parade , Fireworks @ dusk)

During all of these events, we ask that you be patient, drive safely, and keep an eye out for pedestrians. We can't wait to see everyone for an amazing event!

Officers will be conducting fi****ms training in the area of the water plant (E. Fancy Street) tomorrow evening (July 1), between 6pm and 8:30pm.

This is training-if you hear gunshots, there's no need for worry.

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values around 105 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast Indiana, northern Kentucky, and south central, southwest, and west central Ohio.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

🌦️ Cops and Bobbers is still ON! 🎣

Sometimes waiting is the right call, especially when Mother Nature keeps us guessing 😵‍💫

The forecast has improved for the majority of the event, and we're glad we didn't make the decision to cancel too early. There may still be a passing shower at the beginning of the event, but it looks like the weather is going to cooperate much more than originally expected ☺️

If the rain decides to make a brief appearance, don't worry—we'll be here when it moves through, and we'll be ready to fish! So grab an umbrella or rain jacket (just in case!), chair, and your fishing gear, and meet us for a fantastic morning of fishing, food, giveaways, and a FIN-tastic morning of fishing with the officers of our local agencies 🎣
