A "Little Spot of Kindness" & "Bee Kind" were the themes of today's 2026 Summer Reading Program - Kindness 101. The kids got yellow sticker spots to remind them to "bee" kind. One kind word can make one's day and create a movement of kindness. The kids also continued to paint "kindness rocks" and started our "kindness rock garden" on the sidewalk ledge on the east side of the Library. Children, teens and adults can visit the Library at any time and also paint rocks to add to the "garden"- all are welcome. Also check out books for your summer reading.

The Quincy Children's Museum visited the Library Tuesday June 23, and we all had a lot of fun. We had a good turnout, and all the kids had a good time. Lots of bubbles, music and activities to explore. The boys figured out the pyramid after multiple attempts - they were very proud. Thanks to everyone that came out - it was a beautiful day. 2026 Summer Reading Program - Kindness 101 update. We had some brave kids, parents, and volunteers, despite tornado warnings, at the Library this morning for Acts of Kindness - just something as simple as holding a door open for someone or a smile can mean the world to someone and make their day a little better. Thank you. It does not take much to make someone feel better about themselves and helps build character - you feel better about yourself. So, take the time and be KIND!

Summer Reading Program 2026 - Kindness 101 started today with a great group of kids. We were honored to have Wanda kick off the program with her word of kindness, followed by stories of kindness in association with the Kindness 101 segments on video. We started our Kindness Rock Garden which we hope will grow throughout the summer. We ended with pizza and drinks. Thanks to all the volunteers their time and hope to see you all again next Wednesday at 10 AM to help grow our Kindness Garden and remember - BE KIND!

Frogs in a Pond - Saturday Morning Story Hour was Froggy's day catching flies - oh that's right - he was trying to sell lemonade instead of catching flies. It was actually more of an adult day but we still had fun. Remember - Saturdays at 10AM the kids can join us for story time and a craft followed with a snack. Please join us!

Remember Monday the 8th the Quincy Children's Museum will be out back at 2:30 -4 and Wednesday we kick off the Summer Reading Program - Kindness 101 at 10AM
