We are looking for local businesses to partner with for our annual bike giveaway at the Bloomer Community Fair. If you are or know a local business that may be interested in donating a bike please contact us at 715-568-5924 or visit the Police Department. Update* this case has been solved and the subject received a citation* We have seen an uptick in illegal dumping at the brush site. Only brush and leaves are allowable for dumping. There are signs clearly stating this. If you are in doubt about what can be dumped at the brush site, you can always reach out to the Police Department or Street Department with questions. Anyone who dumps illegal waste at the brush site will be cited by the Police Department. Thank you for your cooperation to keep this site open and operational for city residents.

The Bloomer High School Student Council put together some kits to give out to children in the community for a project they have been working on. They graciously donated them to the Police Department to be distributed to the children in the community during calls. Thank you, Student Council, for thinking of us and for the great donation!

Due to a selfish individual, the Bloomer Free wood lot will be closed and open by appointment only by contacting the City Shops. The picture below is of a camper that was dumped on the property. This is unfortunate as it is a great resource for the community. If you see anyone dumping garbage please contact the police department so it can be addressed.

This post is in responds to all the social media attention being brought forth due to the incident last evening. The suspect was taken into custody by the Bloomer Police Department and is currently being held at the Chippewa County Jail. We understand the public’s frustration and they may feel this was not addressed properly. The fact of the matter is these cases are very sensitive and need to be investigated properly especially due to the use of A.I. and other things. Our ultimate goal is for our investigations to be done correctly, thoroughly and with integrity so the subject in question can be prosecuted and held accountable. We are here to Protect and serve our community and especially those that are the most vulnerable such as children. This is an active investigation and no further information will be released at this time. Thank you
