The Lori Haber Buckfire Foundation was created in the memory of Lori Haber Buckfire, who passed away from ovarian cancer at the age of 41.

Lori was passionate about children and helping others fighting the battle against cancer.

The Lori Haber Buckfire Foundation is excited to announce that we are now accepting applications to the Planet Lori Art Camp at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center.

The camp is designed for children who have or had a parent or close relative with cancer. It will be held on a daily basis from August 10-August 14, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The foundation is providing full paid scholarships to children (ages 5-15) to attend the camp. There is limited space in the camp, so it is recommended that completed applications be submitted as soon as possible. Applications can be downloaded from our website at www.planetlori.com.

Last Friday, we concluded the 11th Annual Planet Lori Art Camp at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center with a beautiful Exhibition of the campers’ artwork.

Each piece reflected the creativity, resilience, and spirit of the children who took part in this special week. The camp was created in memory of Lori Haber Buckfire, whose love of children and passion for art continues to inspire us all.

The Lori Haber Buckfire Foundation is so proud of our young artists and grateful to everyone who helps keep Lori’s legacy alive through the Planet Lori Art Camp. Here are some photos of the incredible artwork and the exhibition celebrating our campers.

Today kicks off the first day of Planet Lori Art Camp at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center!

Running daily through Friday, August 15, this special camp is designed for children ages 5–15 who have a parent or close relative who has battled or is battling cancer.

Thanks to the Lori Haber Buckfire Foundation,
every camper attends on a full scholarship—giving them the chance to create, connect, and heal through art. We’ll be sharing photos from this year’s camp soon, but in the meantime, here’s a look back at some wonderful moments from past years.

Today marks the 15th anniversary of the passing of Lori Haber Buckfire — a beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, and an extraordinary soul whose passion for helping others continues to inspire.

In her memory, the Lori Haber Buckfire Foundation created the Planet Lori Art Camp, a program that reflects her love of children, art, and supporting families affected by cancer.

To those who knew and loved Lori — and to those who’ve come to know her through the foundation — thank you for helping us keep her spirit alive in such meaningful ways.

May her memory always be a blessing.

As promised,here’s the beautiful artwork from Planet Lori Art Camp from last week, which is sponsored by the Lori Haber Buckfire Foundation, and held at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center. This was our 10th year of the camp, and we are so proud that we have been able to provide a wonderful, fully paid camp, to hundreds of children. Our camp is designed for children (ages 5-15) who have or had a parent or close relative with cancer. Also, a special thank you to the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, our amazing partner in this very special camp.

The Planet Lori Art Camp, sponsored by the Lori Haber Buckfire Foundation, held at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, just completed its 10th Annual Camp yesterday. The camp is designed for children (ages 5-15) who have or had a parent or close relative with cancer. The kids had a wonderful time this year and made amazing art work. We will be posting photos today and tomorrow of the camp this week and the children's beautiful art work.
