๐Ÿ’œ September is National Recovery Month ๐Ÿ’œ

Recovery is possible, and everyone deserves access to support, resources, and tools that can help keep themselves and their loved ones safer.

As part of our commitment to harm reduction and community health, free harm reduction supplies and materials are available at our office during regular business hours, no questions asked.

Need supplies outside of business hours? Our harm reduction cabinets are available 24/7 at the Bloomfield Community Center and Bloomfield Police Department.

Whether you are in recovery, actively using substances, supporting someone you love, or simply want to have supplies on hand, you are welcome to access these resources. There is no judgment, no stigma, and no questions asked.

WHBHD offers free naloxone and drug testing strips to community members. Stop by our office at 580 Cottage Grove Rd, Ste 100 Monday - Friday between 7:30 am and 3 pm, no questions asked.

In 2025, approximately 70,000 people in the United States died from drug overdose. Each person was loved, valued, and missed.

This , we honor them through remembrance, compassion, and evidence-based action.

Another step forward in expanding access to life-saving resources in our community! We're proud to partner with Amplify, Inc. and the Bloomfield, CT Police Department Town of Bloomfield, CT to celebrate the placement of the SECOND harm reduction cabinet in Bloomfield, increasing access to free, anonymous overdose prevention and harm reduction supplies.

Special thanks to Amplify for providing the cabinets and initial supplies, and to our local partners for helping bring these resources to the community!

Harm Reduction Cabinets Now Available at Two Bloomfield Locations

Bloomfield residents now have access to two free, anonymous harm reduction cabinets as part of the Townโ€™s ongoing commitment to overdose prevention and public health.

Through a partnership between the Bloomfield, CT Police Department, the West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District, and Amplify, Inc., harm reduction cabinets are now available at:

๐Ÿ“ Bloomfield Police Department, 785 Park Avenue (front entrance)
๐Ÿ“ Alvin & Beatrice Wood Human Services Building, 330 Park Avenue (mural side entrance)

Amplify provided the harm reduction cabinets and supplied the initial DMHAS-funded resources to stock them, including naloxone (Narcan), fentanyl and xylazine test strips, gloves, hand sanitizer, and other harm reduction supplies.

Each cabinet includes:

๐Ÿ’œ Naloxone (Narcan), a life-saving medication that can reverse an opioid overdose
๐Ÿงช Fentanyl and xylazine test strips
๐Ÿงค Gloves and hand sanitizer
๐Ÿชฅ Personal care items

All supplies are free and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Access is completely anonymous, with no sign-in, identification, or questions required.

Residents are encouraged to take what they need for themselves, a family member, a friend, or to keep on hand in case of an emergency. Having naloxone readily available can help keep someone alive until emergency medical assistance arrives.

The photo features representatives from the Bloomfield Police Department, the West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District, and Amplify, recognizing the collaborative effort that made these cabinets possible and expanded access to life-saving resources throughout the community.

Together, we can save lives.
