Come see me at this Wednesdays Block Watch Meeting!

📣 Join us for our next Block Watch meeting this Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 6:00–7:00 PM at the Bloomfield Police Department.

This is a great opportunity for residents to learn more about what’s happening around town, ask questions, and share any concerns or input with our officers.

🐾 Special guest: K-9 Luna will also be in attendance and ready to say hello!

🇺🇸🐾 Happy 4th of July, everyone! It's me, K9 Luna! 🐾🇺🇸
I just wanted to stop by and wish all of my friends and neighbors a fun, safe, and Happy Independence Day! Whether you're celebrating with family, friends, or firing up the grill, I hope you have a paws-itively amazing day. While you're making great memories, my police partners and I will be helping keep Bloomfield safe so everyone can enjoy the holiday.
The summer heat isn't taking a holiday, so please remember to stay hydrated—and don't forget about us four-legged family members! Make sure your pets have plenty of fresh water, access to shade or air conditioning, and never leave them in a parked vehicle. A little extra care goes a long way during this heat wave.
Fireworks may be exciting for people, but they can be very scary for pets. Loud noises can cause dogs and other animals to become anxious, frightened, or even run away. If fireworks are going off in your neighborhood, keep your pets indoors in a cool, quiet, and secure place where they feel safe and comfortable.
And finally... if you're grilling today, I certainly wouldn't complain if you saved a burger or a hot dog for me! 🌭🍔 (Don't worry—I promise to keep working hard to earn it!)

I'm working dispatch tonight, so if you call our routine line, you just might get to "speak" with me! 🐶📞

With these hot temperatures, I wanted to remind all of my friends to:
💧 Stay hydrated
🌳 Find some shade or air conditioning when you can
🏢 If you need a place to cool off, check the Town of Bloomfield's website for cooling center locations and information.

And don't forget:

🐾 Attention future coworkers… I’m interviewing! 🐾

Hi friends! It’s me, K-9 Luna, and today I have the very important job of helping conduct oral boards for the Bloomfield Police Department. 🦴🐶

I take my responsibilities very seriously… by greeting candidates, making sure they gave the best belly rubs, and carefully evaluating their snack-sharing potential. (Don’t worry, I didn’t let my love for treats influence my decisions… too much. 😉)

I’m on the lookout for qualified, hardworking, compassionate people who want to serve our amazing community—and of course, who wouldn’t mind having a four-legged coworker around the station.

If you’re looking for a rewarding career where every day is different, your teammates become family, and you might just get to work alongside me, we’d love to have you join the Bloomfield Police Department!

A few weeks ago, I had so much fun visiting Wintonbury Early Childhood Magnet School for their Annual Safety Day! 🐾🚓🚑🚒

I was joined by my friends from the Bloomfield Volunteer Ambulance and the Bloomfield Center Fire Department as we spent the day meeting all of the amazing students. They had the chance to check out our emergency vehicles, climb inside, and learn about the important roles first responders play in keeping our community safe.

My favorite part was making so many new friends and seeing all of the smiling faces. Thank you to everyone at Wintonbury Early Childhood Magnet School for inviting us. I can't wait to visit again! 💙🐶

🐾🎓 I DID IT! I GRADUATED! 🎓🐾

Hi everyone! It’s me, K-9 Luna, and I have some exciting news to share… I officially graduated and am now a Certified Facility Service Dog with the Bloomfield Police Department! 💙🐶

This has been such an amazing journey, and I couldn’t have done it without so many wonderful people.

A very special thank you to the Forever in My Heart Foundation (FIMH) for training me, believing in me, and giving me so much love (and LOTS of yummy snacks 🍖😋) before I found my forever home with the Bloomfield Police Department. You helped me become the dog I am today, and I’m so grateful for everything you’ve done for me.

Now I’m ready to get to work! My job is to provide comfort, support, and plenty of tail wags to our community. You may have already seen me around town or at community events, and I can’t wait to meet even more of you.

If you see me out and about, please come say hi! I love making new friends… especially if you happen to have a squeaky toy! 🧸🐾

🐾 Hi Everyone! My Name is K-9 Luna! 🐾

I’m the newest member of the Bloomfield Police Department, and I’m excited to introduce myself to the community! 💙

I am a Facility Service Dog, which means I help provide comfort, support, and companionship to community members, visitors, and department staff. You may see me around the police department, at community events, in schools, or out and about with my handler.

A few fun facts about me:
🐶 My favorite thing in the whole world is FOOD! If it’s snack time, I’m ready.
🧸 I love toys, especially the ones that squeak!
❤️ I enjoy meeting new people and making new friends.
🐾 I’m always happy to help brighten someone’s day with a wagging tail and a friendly smile.

While I love attention, there may be times when I’m working and need to stay focused. If you see me out in the community, be sure to ask my handler before coming over to say hello.

I can’t wait to meet all of you and become a familiar face (and wagging tail!) throughout Bloomfield!
