The Bloomfield Police Department invites residents to join us today at Bloomfield High School from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM for our Shred Day & Electronics Recycling Event.

This event provides a safe and secure opportunity to:

✅ Shred confidential and personal documents to help protect against identity theft
✅ Responsibly recycle old and unwanted electronics
✅ Reduce clutter while helping protect the environment

Whether you’re cleaning out old files, bank statements, tax documents, computers, printers, or other electronic devices, this is a great opportunity to dispose of them safely and responsibly.

The Bloomfield Police Department Animal Control Division will be hosting a Rabies Clinic at 779 Blue Hills Avenue from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

This event will be first come, first served, so please plan accordingly. Rabies vaccinations are an important part of keeping your pets healthy and protecting our community.

🕙 Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
💲 Cost: $20 (Cash Only)
📅 First Come, First Served

Please bring your pets on a leash or in a carrier to help ensure the safety of all attendees.

The Bloomfield Police Department would like to honor Memorial Day by recognizing the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. We remember and thank them for their selflessness, dedication, and bravery in protecting our country.

On Tuesday, May 19, Bloomfield Volunteer Ambulance, along with our emergency service partners, responded to a tragic structure fire on Blue Hills Avenue. BVA provided medical support, patient care, and firefighter rehabilitation services for crews operating under challenging conditions.
Our thoughts are with all those impacted by this devastating incident. We are grateful for the coordinated efforts of the firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, and mutual aid partners who worked tirelessly on the scene.

The Bloomfield Police Department invites all residents to attend tonight’s Block Watch Meeting from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

This is a great opportunity for citizens to stay informed about what’s happening around town, hear updates from the police department, discuss community concerns, and work together to keep Bloomfield safe.

We encourage everyone to come out, ask questions, and stay connected with your community.

The Bloomfield Police Department would like to extend our congratulations to Camillia Robinson on her incredible accomplishment at the Coast 2 Coast New England Regional Pageant! 👑

Camillia, a student at Metacomet Elementary School in Bloomfield, was recently crowned the highest title holder in two divisions at the regional pageant. Beyond her achievements, Camillia has shown a true commitment to kindness, volunteerism, and giving back to her community. She serves as a wonderful role model and demonstrates that being a title holder is about much more than wearing a crown — it’s about making a positive impact on those around her.

We would also like to sincerely thank Camillia for her generous donation of Dunkin’ Donuts to the Bloomfield Police Department. Your thoughtfulness and support were greatly appreciated by our officers and staff. 🍩💙

Congratulations again, Camillia! We are proud to have such an inspiring young member of our community representing Bloomfield so well.

During National Police Week, observed May 10–16, the Bloomfield Police Department joins communities across the nation in honoring the brave law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

This week serves as a time of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude for the men and women who dedicated their lives to protecting and serving others. We also recognize the sacrifices made by the families, friends, and fellow officers who continue to carry their memory forward.

The Bloomfield Police Department remains committed to honoring their legacy through continued service to our community with professionalism, integrity, and compassion.

Today, we celebrate and recognize all of the incredible mothers within our department, as well as mothers everywhere who serve as first responders. Your strength, compassion, dedication, and sacrifice do not go unnoticed.

Whether you are protecting and serving the community, responding in times of crisis, or caring for your families at home, you continue to inspire those around you each and every day.

Thank you for all that you do — both in uniform and beyond. We wish all mothers a safe, happy, and well-deserved Mother’s Day! 💙
