Maple Avenue Traffic Calming Project Notification
The Town of Bloomfield Department of Public Works is announcing the anticipated start of work on the Maple Avenue Traffic Calming Project. The project is anticipated to start the week after Labor Day and continue through the end of the year. The project is located on Maple Avenue from Mountain Avenue (State Road 178) to Cottage Grove Road (State Road 218) and is being administered by the Town of Bloomfield Department of Public Works, Engineering Division. The project consists of the installation of four concrete median islands on Maple Avenue and a raised intersection at Maple Avenue and Sandpiper Drive. The project also includes bituminous concrete sidewalks, driveway apron paving, drainage improvements along with other incidental work.
Residents may experience temporary traffic restrictions, construction noise, and limited access while work is underway. Drivers should use caution, follow posted signs and allow additional travel time near active work areas.
Maple Avenue will remain open during construction, however alternating one way traffic is anticipated. The schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions. Additional information will be provided as the work progresses.
