Award recipients will be recognized by the Township Council for their outstanding contributions to our community.

‼️ Please see my official statement regarding reports of a privately organized concert at a private venue in I share in community concerns regarding rising accounts of hate speech and antisemitism:

The Township of Bloomfield has been made aware of concerns regarding a privately organized concert that took place in Bloomfield on Saturday, June 27.

Let me be clear: Bloomfield unequivocally rejects hatred, discrimination, racism, antisemitism, extremism, and any ideology that conflicts with our values of inclusion, dignity, and respect for all people. We take these concerns seriously because standing against hate is fundamental to who we are as a community.

As Mayor, I know this news is deeply upsetting to many members of our community. It is upsetting to me as well. The actions or beliefs of those associated with a single private event do not define Bloomfield or the people who call our Township home.

Bloomfield has always been, and will continue to be, a welcoming community where people of all backgrounds belong. We remain committed to standing against hate and fostering a community where every resident feels safe, respected, and valued.

Claims that the Bloomfield Police Department provided security for or supported this event are false. The Department’s role was to respond to concerns, assess the situation, and ensure public safety in accordance with the law. Bloomfield Alert: Due to the threat of severe thunderstorms this evening, tonight's Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks have been postponed and will not take place. The event will be rescheduled for a date this fall. The Bloomfield Civic Center will remain open as a cooling center until 4:30 PM today. Visit the Township's website and social media channels for updates.

POSTPONED: Bloomfield's Annual Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks

Due to the forecast for severe thunderstorms and damaging winds this evening, tonight's Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Spectacular at Foley Field will not take place.

With storms expected between 6:00 and 10:00 PM and no available shelter for the thousands of attendees expected, postponing the event is the safest decision.

Because similar weather is forecast for Sunday, the celebration will instead be rescheduled for a date this fall. We look forward to celebrating together under safer conditions and will share the new date as soon as it is announced.

Cooling Center: The Bloomfield Civic Center will remain open today until 4:30 PM for anyone needing relief from the heat.
