It takes a special person to be able to do what they do. They are the unsung heroes of law enforcement. Thank you Kaitlin, Jenny, Amber, Kacie, Kelsey and Jenn. We appreciate you more than you know!

The Davis County Law Center will be participating in the state wide storm siren testing today. All storm sirens in Davis County will be activated. This test will begin at 10:00 a.m. There is no threat of severe weather weather today. Please spread the word!

You may hear tornado sirens today; it’s a drill that's part of the state’s Severe Weather Awareness Week.

SCAM ALERT

We have received reports that the old "You missed Jury Duty and now we're coming for you" scam is making the rounds again. These scammers are claiming to be calling from the Davis County Sheriff's Office and that you have to pay a certain amount or you will be arrested. This is just a scam.

If you ever receive a call that claims to be from us and you are not sure if it is real, hang up and call our office to inquire. We will never ask you for money and we will never call to tell you we're coming to arrest you.

🎂📞 Happy Birthday to 9-1-1!

On this day in 1968, the very first 9-1-1 call was placed by Alabama Senator Rankin Fite from the mayor’s office in Haleyville. Today, the iconic “red phone” used to make that historic call is preserved at Haleyville Town Hall.

Thank you to 9-1-1 and the dedicated dispatchers who answer the call every day calm voices in chaos, lifelines in emergencies, and heroes behind the scenes. 💛🚓🚑🚒
