Mosquito Control Application – Tonight, June 24
Clarke will conduct the first adult mosquito control application of the season overnight tonight, between dusk and dawn, throughout the Township, including the Village of Bloomingdale, weather permitting.

To receive text or email alerts when mosquito spraying is scheduled in Bloomingdale, visit https://www.clarkeportal.com/ . To be added to the automated call list, call Clarke’s Mosquito Hotline at (800) 942-2555. You can also use the https://www.clarkeportal.com/hotline to report standing water or high mosquito activity.

The Illinois Department of Public Health advises residents to eliminate standing water around the home, wear long sleeves and pants outdoors, use EPA-registered insect repellent, and be especially cautious at dawn and dusk when mosquitoes are most active.

Residents are also encouraged to check their property for standing water, which can become mosquito breeding grounds. Water that remains for more than three days should be reported through https://www.clarkeportal.com/hotline or by calling (800) 942-2555.

Tomorrow, June 6th, is Pay It Forward Day in Bloomingdale: a day to strengthen our community through simple acts of kindness. Do something good for someone else, not for recognition, but to inspire them to do the same for another.

This tradition began in 2014, inspired by Summer White Lynch, a Bloomingdale resident whose positivity in the face of terminal illness sparked a movement that reached far beyond our village.

One small act can start a ripple of generosity. Let’s honor Summer’s legacy by keeping that kindness moving, one good deed at a time.

Hydrant Flushing Begins June 9

The Village of Bloomingdale Public Works will begin its annual Hydrant Flushing Program on Monday, June 9, continuing through June 24, 2025. Flushing will take place weekdays between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

This routine maintenance improves water quality and flow, ensures hydrant reliability, and supports emergency readiness.

Please avoid doing laundry during flushing hours to prevent possible rust staining from disturbed sediment in the water lines.

Please see the attached Flushing Schedule and Map for more details.

For questions, contact Public Works – Distribution Division at 630-671-5800.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work to keep our water system safe and efficient.
