Early this morning the Bloomington Police Department served a warrant on the 100th Block of Harriet Ave S. as part of our ongoing investigation into last week's shots-fired call.

No other agencies assisted us at the scene. There is no additional information to share at this time.

🛑 Stop. Every time.

When a school bus has its red lights flashing, you must stop. A new Minnesota law that took effect this year makes that requirement clear — and it’s about protecting students as they get on and off the bus.

In the Bloomington school district alone, there have already been 215 violations this school year — and we’re only a few weeks in.

🚍 Flashing red lights = STOP.

Give students the time and space they need to get home safely.

Come on man, flicking off a bus full of kids, after blowing the stop arm?

So far this school year we have received over 200 violations from Bloomington alone!

Let’s be better.

Minnesota drivers must now stop at least 20 feet away from a school bus the moment its red lights start flashing, regardless of whether the stop arm is fully extended.

The yellow lights don’t mean speed up. The bus drivers in Bloomington are amazing at what they do and are trying to keep our kids safe, so please follow the law.

Today at 1:50pm officers responded to the area of American Blvd. and 30th Ave S. for multiple reports of shots fired.

Bloomington officers with the assistance of surrounding agencies are actively working to contain the crime scene and have multiple people detained at this time.

One victim was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body.

At this time the perimeter is contained and we believe there is no longer a danger to the public. The Bloomington PD remains committed to transparency and recognizes the community’s concerns. To protect the investigation’s integrity, information is limited at this time.

Additional details will be provided as the investigation progresses and in accordance with the law.

Join the Bloomington Police Department Public Safety Ambassadors Program!

Formerly known as Explorers, the Ambassadors Program is open to anyone ages 14–20 who is interested in learning more about law enforcement through hands-on training, teamwork, scenarios, community involvement, and exposure to different areas of police work. Basically, a little more exciting than sitting through another PowerPoint about careers.
