It was an honor participating in the Speak Up and Speak Out Summit Legislative Panel, hosted by The Arc of Illinois!

This conference shows that disability does not deny your voice. In Illinois, we understand that success must be in reach for all.

From voting for record-investments in supportive housing, to policies that make work and education more accessible, I will always be an advocate for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Special shoutout to Lifelong Access, based right here in our district, for showing out at the conference. It was incredible seeing so many familiar faces and talking about the issues that matter!

Illinois just earned its 11th credit upgrade!

After the last five years of credit upgrades, our state was elevated to an A1 rating. Because of the work we’re doing in Springfield, Illinois is on a strong fiscal footing.

Achieving the highest rate in nearly 15 years is no small feat. We have to continue passing thoughtful and responsible budgets. That’s exactly what I’ll continue doing in the Capitol!

I had a wonderful time at Festival ISU!

It was great to see so many new faces on campus. I also got to learn more about impactful student-led organizations, from academic groups to recreational clubs.

I’m excited to see everyone succeed in the classroom and in their extracurriculars this fall semester!

I had the pleasure of joining Senator Dave Koehler for an informative tour of the College of Engineering at Illinois State University!

State of the art labs, design studios and workshops will provide hands-on opportunities for learning. Along with the collaboration spaces and courtyard, the facilities at this new complex will prepare students for years to come.
