Switchyard Park - City of Bloomington, IN Switchyard Park is a 65-acre park located on the south side of Bloomington, Ind. Admission is free. until 8 p.m. Rental spaces are available at Switchyard Park.

The park includes basketball, pickleball and bocce ball courts, a skate park, dog park, picnic shelter, playground and spray pad (open seasonally). The Community Foundation Switchyard Plaza spray pad is open from Memorial Day through Sept. 30, from 10 a.m. Operating hours are subject to change based on weather conditions. are open seasonally, during daytime hours only, April through October. Outdoor rental spaces include a picnic shelter, lawn space and performance stage. Indoor space includes the 11,000 square foot Pavilion. For rental information, call 812-349-3961. The Switchyard Park dog park includes fenced areas for large and small dogs, with a total of 4.7 acres of dog park space. The skate park, designed and constructed by Hunger Skateparks, is for skateboards and inline skaters only. BMX bikes with plastic pegs are also permitted. The skate park is open daily from 5 a.m. until 11 p.m. Camping in, and overnight use of, Switchyard Park is not permitted. Parking for 400+ vehicles is available at three different parking lots: at Rogers Street, Grimes Lane, and Walnut Street. Electric vehicle charging stations are located in the Rogers Street lot (2 hour time limit for all charging stations).

The Community Foundation Switchyard Plaza Spray Pad will move to its September schedule beginning Sept. 8.

Sept. 8–30
Fridays through Sundays
10 a.m.–6 p.m.

Admission is free.

Please note: The spray pad will close on days when temperatures fall below 70°F.

A lovely evening at Switchyard Park.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra last night, and to Taco in a Bag and Planted for keeping the crowd fed. We loved seeing such a great turnout for an evening of live music in the park.
