Please join us in welcoming our newest CASA advocates, sworn in last week across three counties. McLean County celebrated its 82nd class of advocates, Ford County welcomed its 2nd class, and Logan County held its 5th swearing‑in ceremony.

Each of these dedicated individuals has taken an oath to advocate for, promote, and protect the well-being of children in foster care. We are grateful for their commitment and excited to see the impact they will make in our communities.

Our next training begins in September, with guided learning starting on September 9th and traditional classes beginning on September 22nd. We look forward to welcoming our next group of future advocates as they begin their journey with CASA.

🌽☀️ We had a sweet time this past weekend at the Uptown Normal Sweet Corn Festival! 🌽💛

Our CASA team was excited to be out in the community, connecting with friends, families, and neighbors while celebrating all that makes our community so special. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, said hello, and supported our mission of advocating for children! 💙

We’re grateful for opportunities like this to spread awareness about CASA and the difference our advocates make in the lives of children.

Different contexts. Common aspirations. 💙

Today is International Youth Day — and this year’s theme says something we see in our work constantly.

Every child wants the same things. To feel safe. To be believed in. To have someone show up for them, again and again. What differs are the circumstances they’re handed.

For the kids we serve, those circumstances include a courtroom, a caseworker, and a season of life no child should have to navigate. But they arrive there with the same hopes as any other kid — and with more resilience than most of us will ever be asked to muster.

Today we want to recognize the organizations right here in Bloomington-Normal who show up for young people every single day. We’re better because you’re here:

McLean County Children's Advocacy Center The Child Protection Network The Baby Fold Project Oz Youth Action Board Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington-Normal Children's Discovery Museum Brightpoint Western Avenue YWCA McLean County Home Sweet Home Ministries Big Brothers Big Sisters ISU Mid Central Community Action

Thank you for the work you do. Our community’s young people are better supported because of it.

Right now, there are children in McLean, Logan, and Ford Counties navigating the foster care system without a consistent adult in their corner. You could change that.

CASA volunteers are everyday people — no legal background, no child welfare experience required — who are trained to advocate for a child’s best interests in court. We provide the training. You provide the heart.

💻 Flexible, mostly virtual — options for daytime or evening learners

⏰ Applications due Friday, August 28

Meet Natalie Moore, our new Recruiter/Trainer! 💙

Natalie joins CASA with 15 years of experience in recruiting, training, and community engagement — including a decade building and leading teams right here in Bloomington-Normal. She’s passionate about one thing above all: connecting caring adults with the children who need them most.

A Normal resident, small business owner, and mom of twin boys, Natalie believes every child in our care deserves one consistent, caring adult in their corner — and her job is to find those adults.

Her first fall training classes begin in September! Keep an eye here for dates, or reach out to Natalie at [email protected] to learn how you can become a CASA volunteer. 🎉
