I am running for MN State Senate in order to "preserve the future". The current rate of budget growth/spending is simply unsustainable. If left unchecked our children, grandchildren and future generations will inherit a burden that can only be solved with significant tax increases. MN is already one of the highest taxed states in the nation. Only with responsible spending can future budgets be rea
listic. This can be achieved by budgeting only for projected income; holding the line on tax increases and establishing a regular review of all current programs and their "cost effectiveness". High quality education is also critical for our future workforce needs. The educational system should provide maximum effectiveness for the dollars spent. (see my website for more details). An efficient transportation system is also critical to support commerce and provide the public with quick access to jobs, services and recreational offerings. A long range plan that allows MN to compete with other states needs to be defined and agreed to by all parties. Together we can "preserve the future" for our children and grandchildren.
