🏠 Report residential or structural storm damage through Indiana 211 at 211.org (click on Damage Reporting) or 866-211-9966.

🗑️ Debris - storm-damaged trees and vegetation can be dropped off starting MONDAY MAY 19 at 9:00am at the Monroe County Debris Management Site at 7740 North Fish Road. This is only for trees and vegetation. Additional information about disposal of household appliances, house debris, and other materials will be coming.

I was fortunate enough to get a bird’s eye view of the storm damage in the county this afternoon; it’s far more extensive and continuous than I first thought. The storm followed a clear path. Cleanup efforts have begun but so much more is needed. Information about relief is coming soon.

Last week I had the honor and privilege of taking the oath of office for Monroe County Commissioner along with several other fabulous public servants. The moment was so profound, humbling and wonderful that my voice quavered. Happy tears might have happened. Thank you so much for your trust, and I look forward so much to serving! Also, special thanks to my family and campaign staff for putting up with me 🙂

On this day, we send our heartfelt thanks to our veterans. We honor you for your service to our country. Your sacrifice and dedication merits deep admiration and respect. Today, I also remember my father, Larry Burkett, who died on active duty as an Army officer and my grandfather, Ray Burkett, who served in World War II and the Korean War.
