Thomas Metcalf School Pre-K Classes came to The Giving Fence today to hang their donations. They brought 104 coats!! And probably just as many bags of hats, scarves, mittens, and gloves!

The Giving Fence has been going for a couple weeks now and has received so many wonderful donations!
The Giving Fence goes through Saturday, December 20th, so there's still plenty of time to drop items off/pick items up! The Giving Fence is for outerwear coats, snow pants, scarves, mittens/gloves, and hats only--please, no clothing.

Amazing job!

We've passed the halfway point of our winter coat distriubtion, with another 170+ remaining to hand out! We have a few specific sizes that we are looking for help purchasing to finish up what we've promised:
Girls - 5 Size 3
Boys - 5 Size 2
Women - 5 size 3XL
Men - 3 size Large, 5 size 3XL

Thank you for ALL of your assistance in helping us keep McLean County warm this winter!

2025 The Giving Fence
November 8th - December 20th
📍 SW Corner of W. Washington & Morris, Bloomington, Illinois

"Please only donate winter-weight outerwear coats, snow pants, warm gloves/mittens, winter scarves, and winter hats. No clothing. Coats and snow pants go on hangers to hang on the fence (some hangers are available on the fence). Smaller items go into Ziplock-style bags and then get clothes pinned to the fence (plenty of clothes pins are available at the fence).*

*Please look at the weather before donating! If the forecast looks like rain, snow, or heavy wind, please donate another day.*

12/17/24, 11:30am -- A local school donated 20+ Size 6/7 coats today! Please stop by if that's a size you're looking for!!
The Giving Fence ends this Saturday (12/21/24), so please donate or pickup your winter outerwear soon in the next few days!!

12/6/2024, 2pm -- The Giving Fence is full, thanks to individual donations and a large group donation from the local homeschool co-op, TREK! Thank you for giving so warmly.

11/25/2024 -- Thank you to Metcalf Pre-K for collecting and bringing so many coats to the Giving Fence again this year! This is their 4th year adding so much warmth to the community! ❤️
This is from the morning Pre-K group, and the afternoon group will bring more this about 12:30pm today.

The Giving Fence is for gently used winter-weight warm coats, snow pants, gloves/mittens, scarves and hats only. Please hang up coats/snow pants on hangers (zipping to the top helps keep them from falling in the ground!) and put small items in Ziploc-style bags. Extra hangers, clothes pins and bags are provided.
NO CLOTHING PLEASE, WINTER WEIGHT OUTERWEAR ONLY.
