Our department's thoughts and prayers are with the McLean County EMS office and Sandy Alsman's family and friends. She was an amazing person and such a great asset to the McLean County EMS system. She will be deeply missed.

Sandra was born on March 21st, 1965 and passed away on March 2nd, 2026 at the age of 60

With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of CFD Captain David Meyer, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty this morning. Please keep his loved ones and the entire CFD family in your thoughts during this difficult time.

The Bloomington Township Fire Protection District would like to extend their thoughts and prayers to the Normal Fire Department on the loss of their member.

It is with profound sadness that the Normal Fire Department announces the passing of Probationary Firefighter Ethan Jeffreys, following a brave battle with a serious illness.

While he was only with us a short time, he had a bright and promising career ahead of him. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all that knew him in this difficult time.

Funeral arrangements are pending and will be shared when available.

*** Red Flag Warning ***
The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from 1 PM this afternoon to 9 PM CDT this evening.

* 20 FOOT WINDS...South 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 32 percent.

* 10 HOUR FUELS...Less than 9 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread
quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

** Please take note of this Red Flag Warning and DO NOT BURN **
