Usher responsibilities include scanning tickets, showing guests to seats, distributing programs, ensuring guest safety (including emergency evacuations), and answering questions about the cinema or the films. Sassafras Audubon Society (SAS) runs a Community Birdfeeder Cleaning twice a year at Bloomington Hardware. Keeping bird feeders clean is crucial to protecting Bloomington’s wild birds from illness caused by bacteria and mold build-up from old seed and droppings. Volunteers are needed from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. for various cleaning, sanitizing, and organization tasks.

At the CBVN Volunteer Fair, you can find your next passion project AND enter to win the "Busy Bee" Raffle. The fair and the raffle are both completely FREE. Here's how it works...

🐝 At the fair, grab an Event Passport from one of the Bloomington Volunteer Network tables.

🐝 Complete your Event Passport by visiting 12 of the 30 tabling organizations and learning more about their active volunteer opportunities.

🐝 Once you've completed the passport, turn it in at one of the City of Bloomington Volunteer Network tables to enter the CBVN Volunteer Fair Raffle. Only 1 entry is allowed per person.

The winner of the raffle will be drawn at the end of the event and contacted via email to claim their prize the week of September 8.

Our "Busy Bee" Raffle Prize includes:
- 1 bag of Hopscotch Coffee coffee beans (locally roasted)
- 1 branded Hopscotch Coffee mug
- 1 gift certificate for an educational tour of Hunter's Honey Farm (for you and up to 19 of your closest friends).

✨ CBVN Volunteer Fair Event Set-Up & Tear-Down 🐝

Looking for a quick and easy way to support local nonprofits? The City of Bloomington Volunteer Network needs volunteers to assist with set-up and tear-down of their CBVN Volunteer Fair event. The CBVN Volunteer Fair provides an opportunity for more than 30 local organizations to interact with community members and share information about their active volunteer opportunities.

Set-up volunteers will assist with the set-up of 8 tables and 16 chairs on the Fernandez Plaza in front of City Hall. At the end of the event, tear-down volunteers will tear down those same tables and chairs and store them in their designated storage areas.
