A community helping a community. Every item in our warehouse started somewhere else...a couch from one family, a dining table from another, a set of dishes from a neighbor down the street.

Through the generosity of McLean County, those items find new purpose in the homes of families who need them most. Since 2002, we've diverted about 31 million pounds of furniture and household goods away from the landfill, and into homes across our community. That's the power of neighbors helping neighbors.

Fall is around the corner, and we're always looking for new volunteers to join our warehouse team. Whether you're recently retired, have a flexible schedule, or just want to give back in a hands-on way, there's a place for you at RF4F. Our volunteers do everything from cleaning and organizing donated furniture to helping families choose their items and riding along on pickups and deliveries.

We are the only organization in McLean County that provides essential furnishings to local families in crisis. When a family comes to us, they're not browsing. They're rebuilding. And they leave our warehouse with everything they need to make a house feel like a home - free of charge.

Reminder: We are currently unable to accept drop offs at our back door this week.

Some unexpected delays have occurred in our construction at Recycling Furniture for Families. The alley to our back door is blocked off. Therefore we will not be able to accept donations at our back door until Monday August 31st.

Your donations are important to us. Please consider holding onto your donations until after this time. If you live in McLean County and cannot drop off your contributions, you can arrange for us to pick them up by calling 309-829-6500. Please allow at least two weeks’ notice. Furniture pick-ups are performed by volunteers on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10 am to noon, and on Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.

Recycling Furniture for Families will be closed for exterior building repairs beginning at noon on Saturday, August 15th. We will reopen at 9:00 am on Monday, August 24th. We will not be able to accept any drop-off donations during this time. Thank you!

Back to school season is here, and for many families, that means more than new backpacks and school supplies. For families we serve, it means making sure children have a real place to sleep, a table to do homework at, and a home that feels stable as a new school year begins. If you have gently used furniture or household items to donate, now is a great time to pass them along.

A new month. The same mission. This summer, families across McLean County have walked through our warehouse doors looking for a fresh start. Some are overcoming homelessness. Some are rebuilding after a crisis. Some are just trying to create a stable home for their children. What they find here is more than furniture. It's a community that shows up for them. Thank you for being part of that. 🏠💙

We closed out July grateful for everyone who stepped up to support us. The need in our community hasn't slowed down, and neither have we. If you weren't able to give yet but have been thinking about it, there's no deadline on doing good.
