Solid last two days of school as we tackled our second annual Student vs. Staff kickball game…students won, but I swear they must have cheated…teachers still icing their knees and backs. Today, a new Jaguar 500 Champion was crowned as the Blue Team set a record pace!

A superb conclusion to our Strings Season. Not only have they accomplished new heights through earning first-ever awards such as the ISSMA All Music Award in Band & Orchestra but various individual and group gold medals as well. This truly is a manifestation of both years and hundreds if not thousands of hours of practice. We are abundantly grateful for our community support, the tradition of our program, and the bright future ahead in which they will dream, explore, and learn. While it is important to take time to celebrate the victories of this year, at Jackson Creek, we are eager to plan for the future as well. Big plans for next academic year, thanks to the 2023 Referendum supported by our generous community at Monroe County Community School Corporation!

All students will have a trapper keeper, folders for each class, pencils/pens, pouch, erasers, stylus, paper and much more. Middle school is a crucial time in students learning how to become organized and we are pleased that the generosity of our community is allowing for us to help cultivate these skills, not just through the distribution of these materials but through ongoing utilization and reinforcements by our teachers and office staff throughout next year.

After all, it can be rather difficult to dream, explore, and learn if you don't know where you put your math homework, right?

Music is in the air at Jackson Creek! We had a phenomenal choir concert last week, an outstanding band concert last night with 3 student arranged songs, tonight at 7pm we have our orchestra concert, and next Tuesday, May 19 we have our Rock ‘n Rhythm concert at 6pm!

If you haven’t heard some music yet, come on over! Jackson Creek would love to have you!
