RE: Central PA Food Bank Military Share Program
It has been our honor and pleasure to have provided this food program since 2020 to Columbia County’s military personnel whether active, retired, widow or widower. Unfortunately, we have decided that June’s distribution will be our last support of this program.
When this program started, it was a “thank you for your service” with no income eligibility required. We felt it was an opportunity to reach those families that don’t meet the low income eligibility requirements of the other food programs in our county yet need that small bit of help in meeting the day-to-day costs of life. Central PA Food Bank is requiring us to serve only low income eligibility families as of July 1, 2026. With the survey they did last fall, it would represent less than 15% of our 185 participants. If you
meet those income guidelines, you are able to go the various other food banks in the County.
We will be researching other ways to be able to help our military population in Columbia County. If you have any suggestions, please let us know what those possibilities might be. There is a list of the current food programs in the County for your information if you are eligible.
We will miss you all and miss entertaining you with our seasonal props but hope you understand our
decision.
