Beth Villany from Cochlear Americas, Lindsey Woods from Geisinger and Dr. Gadre from Geisinger presented on types of hearing loss and the difference between hearing aids and Cochlear implants and discussed resources available through Geisinger Medical Center.

The Bloomsburg Fire Department recently held a fire drill at the Bloomsburg Senior Center.
Chief Scott McBride, Lieutenant Tristan Miller and Rescue Chief Mike Haggerty shared a fire safety and evacuation plan in the event of a fire.
They stressed the importance of having an escape plan in place and what to do after evacuating the building.
They assured us they already have a plan in place in the case of a fire or a disaster.
We give them a huge, well deserved thank you for volunteering their time to keep us safe.

Fundraiser success! A lot of team work went in to making 115 hoagies in the Senior Center kitchen! We also had baked goods for sale as people picked up their hoagies.
There is still a nice assortment for sale at the Senior Center if you’re craving something sweet - all items are $1.

I am pleased to have this opportunity to serve the seniors in the Bloomsburg area! Stop by the Senior Center at 229 West 6th Street, Bloomsburg. We always have a lot going on and have a great time. Watch for our monthly activity calendar!

We are excited to introduce to you our new Senior Center Mangers! At Benton-we have Catherine, At Bloomsburg-we have Louann, At Montour-we have Tracy, and at Berwick-we have Sydney. Please stop in and visit them, see all of the fun they are having!
