Would you like to honor and serve America?

Do you want to prepare for your future while making new friends?

Then, rise to the challenge of cadet membership in the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary, Civil Air Patrol.

The CAP Cadet Program is a year-round program where Cadets fly, learn to lead, get in shape, and push themselves to new limits. If you’re dreaming about a career in aviation, space, or the military, CAP’s Cadet Program is for you!
To become a cadet, you must be at least 12 years old and not yet 19 years old. Cadets meet 2 hours per week and one Saturday per month, on average, and also have opportunities to attend leadership encampments, career academies, and other activities during the summer. We cover Northumberland, Montour, Lycoming, Columbia, and Sullivan counties.

CAP also needs adults to support the cadet program. CAP has over 24,000 cadets across the country that need mentors willing to help guide and support them. The cadet program provides young adults between the ages of 12 and 21 a well-rounded program of leadership, aerospace education, physical fitness, and moral and ethical decision making. In today’s world we need good people who are willing to step up and help provide a healthy, drug-free environment to develop tomorrow’s leaders.

If you’re a pilot, CAP has plenty of opportunities for you. CAP owns the largest fleet of single-engine piston aircraft in the nation, primarily Cessna 172s and 182s, and CAP pilots are able to fly those planes to perform CAP missions in service to their local communities.

There will be light refreshments, displays, activities, and qualified CAP members on-site to answer your questions about the Civil Air Patrol Program! We also welcome any former CAP members to come, visit, and share their memories of CAP!

Our squadron is always looking for volunteers to join our organization. We need both adult and teenage members to fulfill our missions. Civil Air Patrol membership is voluntary and does not obligate you to any type of military service. We offer several membership options to suite the needs of our volunteers:

Cadet Membership:
Cadets must be at least 12 years of age and must have completed the fifth grade. The maximum age to join as a cadet is 18 years old, though current cadets may remain in the program through their 21st birthday.

Officer Membership:
Officers must be adults, 18 years of age or older. You do not need to be a pilot or even like to fly to join Civil Air Patrol as there are many opportunities to serve!

Cadet Sponsor Membership:
The Cadet Sponsor Membership category is open to parents, guardians, and grandparents of Civil Air Patrol cadet members. This membership category is designed to allow participation with the cadet member in CAP activities without requiring participation in the officer professional development program.

Patron Membership:
Patron membership is open to individuals who do not want an active role in the organization but still desire to support the Civil Air Patrol and it's missions. Patron members enjoy most privileges of CAP membership and do not participate in the officer professional development program.
