NYSDOT will be closing Bridge 10, Sherwood Road over the West Branch of the Delaware River to through traffic on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. to inspect the bridge. The bridge will be re-opened as soon as inspection is complete. The traveling public should use alternate routes.

The Memorial Day Parade will be on May 26th. The parades start in Bloomville this year at 9:00 am, followed by a service at the Cemetery. 10:00 am South Kortright and 11:00 am Hobart. All are welcome to participate.

The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Red Flag Warning for low humidity and gusty winds, which is in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening. * Affected Area...Fire weather zone 210, the Leatherstocking zone. * Timing...From noon until 8 PM today. * Winds...South 14 to 22 mph with gusts of 25 to 35 mph expected. * Relative Humidity...As low as 22 to 28 percent. * Temperatures...68 to 74 degrees. * Lightning...None * Impacts...Any fires that develop in fine fuels will likely spread rapidly. There is a burn ban in place. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The eastern portion of the Leatherstocking Region will be a bit less conducive for fire spread compared to the western areas.

This morning members were out with a disabled tour bus on Cty rt 5. Thankfully everyone was ok

However we would like to share a message we recieved from a parent of someone on the bus:

My son is on the tour bus going back to Rockville, Maryland that went into a ditch this morning. Truly thank you so very much for taking good care of MY everything and keeping everyone safe ❤️❤️

We thank our members for being out in this weather this morning. Job well done!!!
