For those of you who have been having issues with online payments, since we at City Hall do not manage the payment website, we have been communicating with our IT providers in an attempt to resolve the issues that we have been made aware of. The following is the latest information we have received from them:
"Our Development team is continuing to work on resolving the login issues your citizens have been experiencing with the eCommerce portal. The final updates are scheduled to be implemented on Friday, July 31.
What does this mean for your citizens?
Beginning Friday, when users log in to the eCommerce portal, the system will first validate their username and password before prompting them for multi-factor authentication (MFA).
If a user enters an incorrect username or password, they will immediately receive a message stating, "Username or Password is incorrect."
If the username and password are correct, the user will be directed to the MFA verification page, where they will enter the authentication code sent to their registered email address.
If the authentication code is entered incorrectly, the user will be notified that the code is invalid and will have up to four attempts to enter it correctly.
If the correct code is not entered within those four attempts, the user will be redirected back to the login page to begin the process again.
Additionally, the MFA email timing has been updated. Once an authentication code is requested, users should expect to receive it in approximately 30 seconds. Please note that actual delivery times may vary depending on the user's email provider and internet connection.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we implement these improvements."
Those having issues are fortunately in the minority, as most of our online payments are successful. Please bear with us as we continue to do our part to streamline the payment process in order to make it as user friendly as possible for all our customers.
