Good news! Betsy has been claimed by her owner and will be reunited soon!

This female puppy was located at the Blountstown Public Library. She’s very friendly and already proved to be great with the kids at the library. If she is yours, please contact our office at 850-674-5987 to claim.

Motorists should prepare for considerable traffic congestion in Blountstown today, stemming from the installation of new signage at the SR 71 and SR 20 intersection and detoured traffic from I-10 due to closure. Please be cautious and we appreciate your patience.

There is a dog near Warren Street by Burger King. The dog seems to be a female who may have had puppies before. She was hit by a vehicle but won't let officers approach her. If this dog is yours, please retrieve her from the area. You can contact our office at 850-674-5987.

Today, the Blountstown Police Department proudly stands in solidarity with survivors of sexual assault by participating in Denim Day. 💙

Denim Day began after a deeply troubling court ruling in Italy in 1998. In that case, a judge overturned a sexual assault conviction after suggesting that because the victim was wearing tight jeans, she must have helped remove them, implying consent. The ruling sparked outrage around the world and led to the creation of Denim Day as a way to challenge victim blaming and stand with survivors.

Wearing denim today is more than a symbol. It is a reminder that clothing never equals consent, and no victim should ever be blamed for the actions of an offender.

By participating in Denim Day, we help raise awareness about sexual violence, encourage important conversations, and show survivors they are supported, believed, and never alone.
