In just the past two days, we’ve trained 409 community members in this lifesaving skill. The training takes only a few minutes, but the knowledge could help save a life.

The Community CPR Program is returning to Kingsport Fun Fest on July 23–25, and we’re hoping to train 500 new lifesavers!

Stop by our CPR tent outside the stadium gates next to the Fun Fest Merchandise Tent for a quick, free, hands-only CPR training. You’ll watch a short video, get hands-on practice with CPR manikins alongside EMS, fire, and healthcare professionals, and leave with the confidence to make a difference in a cardiac emergency.

Everyone who completes the training will receive a free gift while supplies last.

Last year, more than 500 people learned CPR through this program. This year, let’s train even more and continue building a community that’s ready to step up when every second counts.

⛔️Red, White & BOOM Community Update

Due to the extreme heat forecast for Saturday, we’re asking everyone attending the Red, White & BOOM celebration to help us keep the event safe for all.

Please do not come to the event grounds before 3:00 PM. Early arrival can lead to prolonged heat exposure and creates challenges as crews prepare the event area.

By waiting until 3:00 PM or later, you’ll help reduce heat-related emergencies and allow event staff to safely set up for a great Independence Day celebration.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping Sullivan County EMS, Visit Kingsport, and our public safety partners keep our community safe.

Please join us in congratulating Deputy Chief Stacy Mahan on his retirement after 34 years of dedicated service with Sullivan County EMS.

Throughout his distinguished career, Chief Mahan has exemplified professionalism, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to providing the highest level of pre-hospital care to the citizens and visitors of our region. His dedication to excellence has left a lasting impact on both the organization and the communities he has served.

Over the course of his tenure, Chief Mahan served in numerous leadership roles, including Field Training Officer, Captain, Deputy Chief of Training, and Deputy Chief of Fleet Maintenance. In each position, he demonstrated exceptional expertise, mentorship, and a steadfast commitment to the development of EMS personnel and operations.

Beyond his local service, Chief Mahan answered the call to assist communities in need across the country. As an Ambulance Strike Team Leader, he participated in multiple disaster response deployments to Florida and North Carolina following Hurricanes Michael, Irma, and Dorian, providing critical support during times of crisis.

We are grateful for Chief Mahan’s many years of service, dedication, and leadership. As he begins this well-earned new chapter, we wish him and his family a prosperous, healthy, and fulfilling retirement. Thank you, Chief Mahan, for 34 years of outstanding service and commitment to Sullivan County EMS.

Today, multiple agencies came together at Tri-Cities Regional Airport for a full-scale Airport Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) drill. Exercises like these strengthen coordination, communication, and preparedness between emergency responders when seconds matter most.

Participating agencies included EMS, fire departments, law enforcement, airport operations, emergency management, hospitals, and dispatch personnel from across the region.

Training together today helps us serve our communities better tomorrow.
