In the Ohio/Kentucky Region, she has taught acting, directed and performed with the Tony Award winning Playhouse in the Park in Cincinnati Ohio, The Human Race Theatre & Shuster Center in Dayton, the College Conservatory Theater in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky University. She works with local and regional talent agencies in TV/Film and commercials, has performed in over 150 stage productions and directed over 75 theatrical productions. Professional National Touring as an acrtress, singer, dancer with Artreach and 4th Wall Productions in over 25 states & New Hampshire Equity Theater Company. Locally she has performed with professional theater companies in the Tri-state including; Tony Award Winning Playhouse in the Park, Equity Human Race Theater in Dayton, Equity Ensemble Theater Company, Know Theater Tribe, New Edge Cliff, Showboat Majestic, Covedale, NKU Summer Dinner Theater, Performance Art Gallery, CIncinnati Playwrights Initiative, Queen City Off Broadway, Women’s Theater Initiative, Ovation, Children’s Theater of Cincinnati. Training in Acting, Singing, Dance, Directing and Teaching includes; a BA from University of California, Irvine, The American Ballet Company in New York where she studied with Uta Hagen and Nicole Fosse, the American Conservatory in San Francisco and Stanford University, Improvisation & acting in LA. She continues her study of acting with various professionals she brings into Zappa Studios for monthly Group Master Classes and Rocco Dal Vera – author, acting professor at the College Conservatory of Music, and renowned dialect coach. Recent performing includes; Hollywood Films “A Strange brand of happy“ starring Shirley Jones, “Secretariat” starring Diane Lane & John Malcovich, “The Black Dove” starring John Savage, TV host for documentary film “The Abertooth Lincoln Story” with Wally Amos, & Dayton’s punk band, singing on the original CD cast recording of the musical “Shapin’ Up”, performing in The Grapes of Wrath at Playhouse in the Park in Cincinnati, starring in the film “Method of Deception” which premiered in New York. She can be seen in the world premiere of “Changing Mom’s Diapers” at the Aronoff Center in 2012. Local Directing includes; the world premiere of Stone My Heart with Artistic Director Ed Stern at Playhouse in the Park, the world premiere of Scorched Earth at the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, Ohio which she also directed portions of as a film, the two world premieres of Chasing the Moon and In the Vice of Evils at the Aronoff center, other world premieres at the Schooster Center and Human Race in Dayton, Zappa Studios Company in 2010 and Zappa Studios Cabaret performers in 2011. Carrie-Ellen Zappa has helped her student's prepare for and be offered professional opportunities including; talent representation locally and regionally in LA, New York, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Michigan. Students have performed on Broadway, in National Broadway Tours, singing with professional bands and the Cincinnati Pops, started their own theater companies, taught acting classes, written and directed plays, and are working professional performers. Students have been contenders and have won singing contests including "American Idol", several local "American Idol" contests, “Celebrity Showdown”, "Inspiration". Students have won various awards for acting, singing and performing including OCTA, OMEA, Acclaim Awards with the Cincinnati Enquirer, City Beat awards, Overture Awards, Orchid Awards, Cappy Awards, Recording Artist Competitions, National Dance Competitions, and the Presidential award. All students gain confidence, acting and vocal technique, skills in voice, movement, and critical analysis for theater, musical theater, TV, Film, and commercial work as well as studying the Stanislavski Acting Method and other acting methods.

Kane Parsons originally cast friends and family for The Backrooms YouTube series he uploaded at age 16 on January 7, 2022. After the series accumulated 78 million views, A24 announced a feature adaptation in February 2023 with a formal casting process. Parsons became A24's youngest feature director.

The Backrooms is based on the 4chan internet horror myth first posted on May 12, 2019. Parsons, born June 18, 2005 and now 20 years old, wrote the screenplay and directed the feature with Mark Duplass producing. Follow Film Acting for more.
