A reminder that this Saturday (from 10am-2pm) is National Drug Take Back Day. You can meet an officer in the Whitpain PD lobby to turn in old prescription medications. No needles will be accepted.

Whitpain PD will once again be participating in the Prescription Drug Take Back Day. This year it will be on Saturday April 25th from 10am to 2pm. An Officer will be in the Police lobby to guide you to the box where you can place your unwanted prescription, or over the counter drugs. We again stress that needles of any kind will not be accepted. We will send out a reminder of this event closer to April 25th.

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced the below temporary road closure information:

Between Monday April 27, 2026, and Tuesday May 5, 2026, Township Line Road (East Norriton border) will be closed 24/7 between U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike) and Swede Road for roadway reconstruction activities.

All eastbound and westbound traffic on Township Line Road will be detoured around the work via Germantown Pike, U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike) and Swede Road. Single lane LOCAL ONLY and emergency access will be maintained on the eastbound side of Township Line Road, utilizing a portion of Dekalb Boulevard and Washington Avenue.

This road closure will enable the work to be completed within a much shorter timeframe and ahead of upcoming single lane traffic conditions on Germantown Pike in East Norriton Township.

Whitpain Township is an incredible community, built on a foundation of dedicated organizations and the selfless individuals who serve them. It was the WRA’s privilege to recognize a quintessential example of that public service at yesterday’s Baseball and Softball Opening Day: Chief Ken Lawson.

With over 40 years of commitment to the Whitpain Police Department, culminating in a distinguished decade as our Chief, he has defined what it means to serve.
