Tonight, Officer Missy Felion and Officer Tharen Haugh, members of the Blue Earth Police Department, were honored with a Life Save Award for their actions in responding to a medical emergency.
We are grateful for the opportunity to do what we do, and even more grateful that, on this day, it made a difference.
Thank you to everyone who played a part in this lifesaving response, and to the community for continuing to support the men and women who serve it. We are incredibly honored to receive this recognition, but the greatest reward isn't something that can be put on an award or handed to us at a ceremony.
It's knowing that someone got another tomorrow.
To the officers, dispatchers, EMTs, firefighters, and everyone else who played a part in this response...thank you.
This is why we answer the call. This is why we train. This is why we serve. Because sometimes, what we do gives someone the chance to see another sunrise.
