Tips to help prevent fraud
1. Don't share personal information over the phone or the internet, regardless of what they are asking you to do.
2. Be aware of phishing Scams. Phishing is a cybercrime that uses fraudulent messages to trick people into revealing sensitive information, such as passwords, financial details, and Social Security numbers. Attackers disguise themselves as reputable sources, like a bank, government agency, or a company you do business with, to manipulate victims into clicking malicious links, downloading infected attachments, or directly giving up information.
3. Use strong passwords; don't reuse passwords for multiple sites
4. Don't click on unexpected links.
5. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
6. Be suspicious if someone contacts you unexpectedly and asks for your information or tells you are in trouble.
