The Consolidated Election will be held on April 6, 2027. The Village will have 3 Trustee positions on the ballot, and each position is for a 4-year term.

- Petitions may be circulated beginning August 25, 2026.
- Candidacy packets are available at the Village office (309 Railroad Ave., Blue Mound, IL) during normal business hours (7:30 am - 4:00 pm).
- Petition filing period will begin at 7:30 am on November 16, 2026, and end at 4:00 pm on November 23, 2026.

***PSA to Blue Mound Residents***

The Village of Blue Mound would like to advise residents that on Saturday, August 15, 2026, The Blue Mound Fire Department will be burning a large brush pile from the recent storm clean-up. The pile is located near Trimble Construction.

We are sharing this information, so residents are aware and do not become concerned when they see fire or smoke in the area.

During this operation, the Fire Department may need to open a nearby fire hydrant, which could temporarily cause some discoloration to the water. The water will remain safe to drink. However, residents may want to avoid washing light-colored clothing during this time as a precaution against possible discoloration. If you notice discolored water in your home, simply run your bathtub or shower for a few minutes and the water should start to clear up.

We appreciate everyone's understanding and wanted to provide advance notice to help keep our residents informed.

Good Morning Blue Mound!

Since the Fall Festival will be starting tomorrow night July 30th and will go through August 1st, I wanted to provide some reminders & additional information:

1) The Village Office will be closing early on Friday, July 31st at Noon to kick off the Fall Festival weekend.

2) Don't forget, the last day to buy the mega passes for the carnival rides is tomorrow, Thursday, July 30th and our office will be open until 4:00 pm. Mega Passes are $60.00 per person and are good for the entire festival. You must take the pass that we give you and turn it into the ticket booth and they will give you a wristband that will cover you for the whole event. PLEASE DO NOT LOSE THE MEGA PASS because the carnival will only accept the pass. They will not accept the receipt the Village office provides in place of the Mega Pass. After our office closes tomorrow, Mega passes will no longer be available, and you will have to buy a wristband for each day, and they will be $25/per person.

3) S. College, W. Lincoln, S. Prairie, and Dunbar Streets that are around and by Wise Park will be closed for the duration of the festival. Please plan accordingly. I believe the road closures are the same as previous years.

We hope everyone gets out to support the festival and has a good time. Thank you to everyone who puts in so much work to make this possible for our community. It is greatly appreciated and your hard work does not go unnoticed! :)

The Village of Blue Mound main office has Ride Mega Passes available to purchase per the Fall Festival's post below. Our business hours are 7:30am-4:00pm Monday-Friday. The Mega Passes are only being sold until Thursday, July 30th until 3:00 pm. Come get them while they are available, because the festival will be here before you know it! :)

Ladies and gentlemen, we have some exciting news to share. Last year I asked for some feedback and this was at the top of discussions. This year we are able to sell discounted mega bands in advance! The cost is $60, and that gets you a mega band which is good for the carnival rides every night and every day! So here are the details:

🚩Can only be purchased at Blue Mound Village Hall during normal operating hours
🚩Cost is $60/voucher
🚩CASH ONLY
🚩You HAVE to present this voucher to the ticket booth at the carnival to receive wristband, so don’t loose it
🚩pre sale ends Thursday July 30th, at 3:00 pm
🚩Wristband prices go up to $25/ night once the festival begins

Good Afternoon Blue Mound!

I just wanted to reshare our previous post with clarification about our burn pile. Please make sure you are using the correct burn pile that is located just past Dollar General on the right-hand side as you are leaving town headed towards Decatur. You enter through the red gate and follow the road back to the burn pile.

Please DO NOT take brush to the Pleasant View Township burn pile located next to Trimbles Construction. This is NOT the Village's burn pile and not for public use. They were just letting the Village use it temporarily during the beginning of the storm clean up.
