ue Ridge Fire Department is asking for donations of Gatorade and water. Donations can be dropped off at City Hall or Fire Department.

The Blue Ridge Fire Department was recently awarded a $25,000 grant from the Texas A&M Forest Service. This money will go towards new Personal Protective Equipment for our firefighters. Thank you for the opportunity to better protect our firefighters who serve the community.

1:36PM- Blue Ridge Fire Department along with several other fire departments are working a structure fire in the 12000 Block of CR 707 in Blue Ridge. Please stay clear of the area while firefighters work to contain the fire.

UPDATE: 2:13PM- The fire has been contained and crews are mopping up. To survive a Winter Storm in Texas you have to go buy “bread and milk”, lol! If you didn’t, it’s ok because the Blue Ridge Fire Department is prepared to take care of our citizens. We have shared some winter weather tips below, as well as the latest forecast ( which seems to change every hour). Stay warm and stay safe!

DELAYED POST: At 17:08hrs the Blue Ridge FD was dispatched to a Motor Vehicle Accident with possible ejection on FM 1377. BRFD arrived on scene to find one truck off the roadway resting on its side with major damage. The driver was ejected approximately 20ft from the vehicle. AMR Medic 196 and BRFD started patient treatment. The roadway was shut down and BRFD set up a landing zone for PHI Med 2 (air medical transport). The patient was transported to a Trauma Center. The roadway was opened back up, and the incident was cleared at 19:00.

Reminder: Open burning is PROHIBITED within the city limits of Blue Ridge. You could face possible fines and penalties if you’re caught burning.

Those in the unincorporated area are allowed to burn, but there are regulations that must be followed. Those regulations can be found by accessing the link below.

It’s dry folks, and there is an abundance of dead vegetation. These dry conditions, mixed with high winds and low humidity are prime conditions for wildland fires. We have seen an increase in grass fires throughout the North Texas area over the last 3 days. So, be careful if you are doing any outdoor burning.

Just FYI, it is illegal to shoot fireworks inside the city limits of Blue Ridge. We know yall are going to shoot them off anyways. So do us a favor and don’t burn yourself, don’t burn someone else, don’t burn your house down, and don’t burn anyone else’s house down! 🔥

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE :

On December 03, 2025, the Blue Ridge Fire Department was informed about allegations of serious misconduct involving a member of our department. When the allegations were reported to the department, this individual was immediately placed on administrative leave. Subsequently, later the same day, this individual was arrested by the Collin County Sheriff’s Office for the alleged offense. Upon being informed of the arrest, the individual was immediately terminated. The alleged offense was NOT committed while this individual was representing the fire department in any official capacity. This individual’s actions are entirely inconsistent with the core values, professional standards, and ethical conduct expected of every member of the Blue Ridge Fire Department. “Our priority remains the safety, trust, and well-being of the community we serve. There will be no more comments from Blue Ridge Fire Department on this matter. Any questions or concerns should be directed to the Collin County Sheriff’s Office as they are in charge of the case.

We have received a lot of rain overnight, and more is on the way. Blue Ridge is currently under a Flash Flood watch until 3pm. Be aware of possible flooding in low lying areas. Do not attempt to drive through high water. Stay safe!
