This free program is sponsored by the State of Missouri and the Blue Springs School District. The resources offered by this program are listed below:

Adult Basic Education Classes
Reading, writing, and mathematics for learners functioning at or below the 8th grade equivalency. HSE Prep Classes
Reading, writing, mathematics, social studies, science and literature for learners functioning at the 9

- 12 grade level. English as a Second Language Classes (ESL)
Classes providing non-English speaking people with the language skills needed to succeed in other educational/training programs and to cope more effectively with the challenges of their daily lives. Transition Programs
Instruction specifically designed to prepare adult learners to enter post-secondary education, higher education, training programs and/or to improve their employability. Online Instruction
Web-based program available to all eligible Missouri adults with busy work or family schedules.

ELL
Tuesday & Wednesday 10 AM to 1 PM

First Orientation for HSE will be August, 30, 31, & Sept. 1 from 6 PM to 9 PM
First day of class for new and returning students is Tuesday, September 6

Any student with or without a high school diploma is invited to attend our meeting with the federal jobs program director on Wednesday, May 25, at 6:30 PM. Valuable information about summer jobs, long-term jobs, scholarship help and Pell grant info will be available.

We just got some exciting news for anyone out there ages 17 to 24. Information about the federal jobs program will be available on Thursday, May 19, 9 AM at our offices at Valley view high school. Anyone with or without a high school diploma who is interested in bettering their lives is encouraged to attend.

Did you know that there are many locations in the area where you can take your Hi-set tests? Hi-set is the high school equivalency program that takes the place of the previous GED program. Cost for taking the entire battery one time is under $100, and help is available for those who need financial assistance. IT'S NOT TOO LATE! You can start your dream to earn your equivalency degree this spring. Orientation and testing will be open 6-9 pm on April 12, 13 and 14. We are located at the Hall McCarter Education Center, 5000 NW Valley View Road. There is no charge for any of our services. English Language Learners are welcome.
