Blue Springs South High School's baseball team was sent off to the Class 6 State Semifinals with smiles, cheers, and signs.

The player's families and friends were joined by staff members and students from William Bryant Elementary to wish the team good luck!

The Jaguars will play Rockhurst at the Ozark Mountain Sports Complex in Ozark, MO on Friday, June 5 at 1 p.m. If the Jags advance, they will play St. John Vianney High School or Christian Brothers College High School in the State Championship.

BSSD has partnered with Jackson County Public Health to host a TDAP (for 8th graders) and MCV4 (for 8th and 12th graders) vaccine clinic at Blue Springs High School on June 23 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and Noon to 2:00 p.m. Vaccines are available free of charge with accepted insurance or $20 without insurance.

Blue Springs High School and Blue Springs South High School competed at the MSHSAA Class 5 State Track and Field Championships this past weekend.

In total, there were 17 All-State athletes from both High Schools!

Congratulations to these athletes on their outstanding performances! 🎉🎽

Shot Put: Silas Babalola - 6th place (All-State)
Javelin: Lincoln Herring - 5th place (All-State)
300M Hurdles: Devin Staley - 4th place (All-State)
4x200 Meter Relay: Justyn Lindsay, Aiden Ware, Devin Jackson, Stan Clark Jr. - 4th place (All-State)
4x400 Meter Relay (Boys): Brady Redding, Devin Jackson, Aiden Ware, Richard Haase - 3rd place (All-State)
4x400 Meter Relay (Girls): Bri'Yah Burton, Tessa Stuart, Tavia Briles, Madison Gleason - 10th place

Congratulations to the Blue Springs South High School baseball team on defeating Kickapoo 2 games to 1 in the Class 6 State Quarterfinals. The Jaguars fell by a score of 3-1 in Game One, won Game Two by a score of 4-1, and Game Three by a score of 18-2.

The Jaguars will play Rockhurst in the Class 6 State Semifinals at the Ozark Mountain Sports Complex in Ozark, MO on Friday, June 5 at 1 p.m. The Jaguars are the only public school to advance to the semifinals. The other teams competing are St. John Vianney High School and Christian Brothers College High School, both located in the St. Louis area.

This will be the Jags fifth Final Four appearance in program history, including winning the 2025 Class 6A State Baseball championship.

Congratulations to the Blue Springs South High School and the Blue Springs High School theatre programs for being recognized at the annual Kansas City Cappies Awards. Each program took home awards!

Kansas City Cappies is a group of dedicated high school theatre critics who attend and review productions from schools across the Kansas City area. They recognize outstanding student achievement by nominating performers and technicians for awards presented at the annual gala.

Congratulations to the Blue Springs South High School baseball team on winning the Class 6 District 5 Championship. The Jaguars defeated Rock Bridge 8-2 to claim the district title.

The Jags will face the Kickapoo Chiefs in the State Quarterfinals on Friday, May 29.
