Just wanted to clarify any miscommunication:

Yes, The Paperback Playhouse offers OPEN PLAY.
No, your visits are NOT limited to 2 hours.

Yes, you can stay as long as you want AND come back the same day if you want.
No, signing up for 11-1 online does NOT mean you can ONLY play during that time frame.

The Paperback Playhouse transitioned to an Open Play Model almost 6 month ago. And I can't imagine we will be changing anytime soon.

When reserving a session below, please select the time slot closest to your estimated arrival time. Stacking ticket sales online helps ensure that we stay within our facility's occupancy."

The Paperback Playhouse offers a monthly - Ladies 21+ only - book club! This is a great option if you're needing a mom's night out or just a night to laugh with new and old friends.

Hi everyone! I’m Samantha, co-owner of The Paperback Playhouse in Blue Springs.

Like many of you, I’ve seen the recent social media posts about potential funding cuts for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in the state of Missouri. Reading your comments, I felt your deep worry for our kids, but I also saw a shared passion and determination to continue to protect and build up youth literacy programs.

That collective desire to help is exactly why we are sharing our next steps a bit earlier than we had planned.

For months, the Paperback team and nine dedicated community members have been developing a new literacy-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit: The Paperback Passion Project.

To be clear, this project is not a replacement for the Imagination Library. Instead, it is a homegrown initiative designed to champion play-based learning and literacy right here in Blue Springs and our surrounding neighborhoods. In time, we also hope to help bridge some of the gaps left in our public education system.

Through this nonprofit, we aim to:
Distribute free books and literacy tools directly to local children and families.
Remove financial barriers so every single family can afford to visit and play at our space.
Offer educational programs and resources designed to support parents and caregivers.
And so much more!

Out of uncertainty comes opportunity. We are now even more motivated to turn our community's collective concerns into meaningful, lasting action for our kids!

The Paperback Playhouse is OPEN today from 9:00am -2:00pm!

Teaching history to our children means giving them the tools and opportunities to create a better, kinder world. This Memorial Day, we vow never to forget the military lives that have been lost for our country. Let's honor the fallen by loving our neighbors, lifting up our communities, and striving to make a world where conflict is no longer necessary.
