DAV Chapter #39 Bristol Tn-Va Fulfilling our promises to the men and women who served.

We are dedicated to a single purpose: empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. We accomplish this by ensuring that veterans and their families can access the full range of benefits available to them; fighting for the interests of America’s injured heroes on Capitol Hill; and educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning back to

civilian life.

•Providing free, professional assistance to veterans and their families in obtaining benefits and services earned through military service and provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other agencies of government.

•Providing outreach concerning its program services to the American people generally, and to disabled veterans and their families specifically.

•Representing the interests of disabled veterans, their families, their widowed spouses and their orphans before Congress, the White House and the Judicial Branch, as well as state and local government.

•Extending DAV’s mission of hope into the communities where these veterans and their families live through a network of state-level Departments and local Chapters.

•Providing a structure through which disabled veterans can express their compassion for their fellow veterans through a variety of volunteer programs.

Just a quick reminder. Our food pantry will be open from 3:30 to 5:30 this Thursday afternoon at our new location. The address is 2321 volunteer parkway in Bristol TN.

It is still going to be a walk thru, shopping style and open to any and all veterans. We look forward to seeing any and all of you that can come. Feel free to share this post with any veterans you may know.

We have our Forget-Me-Not Drive fundraiser starting tomorrow and running through Sunday. We will be setup at the Food City in Blountville, on Volunteer Parkway, Virginia Ave, and Piney Flats from 10am to 8pm on those days. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year that raises money for Veteran services and we are short on volunteers. If you can donate some time to help out, please message or comment on this post!

Free watermelons, if wanted and can be used. We have an abundance of watermelons that we're not picked up from our pantry. So, if anyone wants to come by during regular business hours of 9-5 on Monday thru Friday and we can give you some. Open to the public, while supplies last. First come, first serve.
