I am running for school board because I have a personal interest in the quality of education provided by our school system. As a parent of children currently enrolled, I would like to play an active role in creating a well-rounded education for all students. I feel the experience I have gained as an engineer and now CEO of a not-for-profit corporation would be a valuable addition to our school board. If elected to BHMSD, I plan to practice fiscal responsibility, open-minded governance, and utilization of technology.
It is no secret that technology is changing our world faster than ever. The current pandemic has taught us that change is inevitable. I feel it is important to adapt quickly and effectively to changes in order to facilitate success for students, teachers, and administrators. Using existing technology and innovative thinking, our school system was able to persevere while continuing to provide effective education even to those students who were not physically present in the school. I commend teachers and administrators for their work and dedication during this challenging time. Further advancing technology creates new possibilities for students, and I would like to be a part of that progression. Keeping up-to-date with current energy efficiency trends is key element of my profession. If elected, I would like to utilize this experience to aid in the reduction of energy costs throughout the school system.
I would be honored to serve my community as a school board member and promote continued unity and teamwork for BHMSD. I feel my community values, boardroom experience, and professional background make me an ideal candidate for this position.
