Public Meeting Announcement! The Wells County Area Plan Commission Staff and Civitas Strategies will be holding a public meeting to go over the draft of the Wells County Master Plan on Tuesday, April 14, at 6:30 pm at the Wells County Government Annex Building at 223 W. Washington St. in the lower-level meeting room. The draft document is available on the Wells County Area Plan Commission's website. Direct links in the comment section of this post.

The red-lined and clean versions of the partial text amendment to the Wells County Zoning Ordinance regarding solar development have been added to the Wells County Area Plan Commission website. They will now move to the affected legislative bodies for approval.

The City of Bluffton, Town of Ossian, and Wells County have offered separate amendments to the proposed Solar amendments to the Wells County Zoning Ordinance. Everything is available on our website for review. These amendments will be reviewed at the March 5, 2026, meeting of the Wells County Area Plan Commission at 7 pm at the Wells County Annex Building meeting room.

The City of Bluffton and the Town of Ossian have both offered amendments to the proposed Solar amendments to the Wells County Zoning Ordinance. We will attend the Wells County Commissioners meeting this evening to see whether any additional amendments to the proposal will be offered. These amendments will be reviewed at the March 5, 2026, meeting of the Wells County Area Plan Commission at 7 pm at the Wells County Annex Building meeting room.

The City of Bluffton has moved to modify the proposed solar ordinance amendment at its January 20, 2026, meeting of the Common Council of the City of Bluffton. Information is available on our website.

The Wells County Area Plan Commission will hear this and any other modifications at our March 5, 2026, meeting.

The City of Bluffton is holding a public meeting on January 15 at 6 pm at the Wells County Dream Center regarding the potential Owner Occupied Repair Program. If you or someone you know in Bluffton lives in their own home and could use some repairs (plumbing, HVAC/Heating, roofing, or accessibility) they should attend this meeting to learn more. The more participation the better chance this grant could be a reality.
