Today, at 8:30 a.m I received a devisting phone call telling me a Parkview Medic that I had work many shifts with, saved many lives together, as well as joked about being the "Old Guys" crew lost his battle with mental illness.

Mike Oberg was not only a coworker , he was one of the best Paramedics, he was a friend, an educator and mentor to many.

Not only is the Parkview EMS family grieving, the entire Northern State of Indiana is grieving.

Until we meet again my friend, it was an Honor and Pleasure to be one half of the "Old Guys Crew"

The loss of a first responder is a heartbreaking reminder that even those who dedicate their lives to helping others can silently carry overwhelming burdens.

First responders see trauma, stress, heartbreak, death and human suffering in ways many never will. Too often, they carry that weight alone.

If you are struggling today, please know help is available. Call or text 988.
