⚠️ RAILROAD CROSSING CLOSURES EXPECTED TODAY! ⚠️

Be sure to read this notice from the Bluffton Indiana Mayor's Office for further information

⚠️ TOMORROW- RAILROAD CROSSING CLOSURE REMINDER ⚠️

As a reminder, several railroad crossings in the Montpelier–Bluffton–Kingsland area are expected to close as Norfolk Southern Railway completes railroad improvement work.

The following Bluffton crossings are expected to close TOMORROW:

• Hale Street
• Oak Street
• Wabash Street
• Market Street
• Cherry Street
• South Street

Update: The following crossings are expected to close Monday.
• Silver Street
• County Road 200 South

Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use caution near work zones. Washington Street and Wiley Avenue will remain open to help maintain access through the community.

If you have items missing from your vehicle please contact the Bluffton Police Department (260)824-3320 to verify if we have it. If you have damage to your vehicle please call to make a report. Friendly reminder to lock your vehicles and remove any valuables.

Overnight on May 27–28, several vehicles on the west side of Bluffton were unlawfully entered and items were stolen. If you have any information or believe you may be a victim, please contact dispatch at 260-824-3320.

As a reminder:
• Lock vehicle doors
• Remove valuables from plain sight
• Do not leave keys or fi****ms inside vehicles
• Report suspicious activity to Bluffton Dispatch

đź’  Mark your calendar for May 30th, for Iris Day is coming to the Parlor City! This will be a free downtown Bluffton event with fun activities and the opportunity to learn more about the Iris history here in Bluffton!

Throughout this event there will be discounts from local downtown retail businesses!

For further discounts and merchandise, you can purchase the Downtown Petal Pass for a fee of $50.00! Tickets must be purchased by Sunday, May 17th . Funds raised directly support downtown and downtown businesses!

Downtown Iris Day is FREE to attend!

We want to clear up one important point as we get ready for Bluffton’s first-ever Downtown Iris Day on Saturday, May 30:

You do not need to purchase a $50 Petal Pass to participate.

The Iris Explorer Scavenger Hunt is free and open to everyone. Come downtown, explore Bluffton’s iris history, visit local businesses, and enjoy a new community event in the Parlor City.

The Petal Pass is simply an optional downtown shopping bundle for those who want exclusive merchant gifts, special discounts, and extra prize opportunities.

Here is a quick reminder from our friends at Bluffton Dispatch in regards to golf carts and UTVs. Click on the link provided for a complete list rules and ordinances.

Golf Cart Reminders for Bluffton City Limits

Speed limit: 30 mph

Areas not Permitted:
State Roads except to cross at intersections.
City streets with speed limits over 30 mph.
Sidewalks and the River Greenway
River Rd & Wayne St are allowed.

Requirements:
Headlamps, taillamps, turn signals, brake lights.
Without these, travel is restricted to 30 mins before sunrise & 30 mins after sunset.

Operators must have a valid driver’s license with them, or be at least 16.5 years old with a valid ID card.

Your safety flag must be visible at all times. Flags must be at least 7 ft.

Annual registration is required through the Bluffton Police Department which includes proof of financial responsibility.

Children less than 2 years old are not permitted.

These are common reminders and not a complete list.
