This month, 81,838 Arkansas children are enrolled in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library—45.4% of children from birth to age five statewide.

Today, Arkansas Imagination Library joins people around the world in mourning the loss of Dolly Parton, an extraordinary woman whose vision changed childhood for millions.

Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Dolly placed books into the hands and homes of children around the world and inspired a love of reading from the very beginning.

Here in Arkansas, Dolly’s vision has reached every county in our state. More than 82,000 Arkansas children currently receive an Imagination Library book in the mail each month, and more than 7 million books have been delivered to Arkansas children since the program began in our state in 2005.

Thank you, Dolly, for believing so deeply in the power of books and the potential of every child. Your legacy will live on for generations. We will always love you. ❤️

Your client’s stock gift may not be valued at the closing price.

When a client contributes publicly traded stock to charity, many assume the charitable deduction is based on the stock’s closing price that day.

But the IRS generally uses the average of the day’s high and low prices.

For example:
• High: $82.40
• Low: $79.60
• Closing: $81.95
• Tax value: $81.00/share

For larger gifts or during periods of market volatility, that difference can matter.

As year-end approaches, it’s a good time to remind clients about the “high-low average” rule and to coordinate early when timing a securities gift.

Please join us on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Arkansas Northeastern College for an important Community Town Hall Meeting on Cancer.

Representatives from the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute will be joining us to talk about cancer prevention, screenings, and new clinical trials that are bringing hope to Arkansans.

Cancer has touched so many of our families, friends, and communities. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together, learn about prevention and early detection, ask questions, and hear about resources that could truly make a difference—or even save a life. ❤️
