🦌Baby fawn spotted in the park this Friday morning!😀

It is common for female deer to leave their fawn in a safe place while foraging. The mother will return through out the day to care and nurse it. Fawns are nearly scentless so predators have a hard time finding them. No human intervention is needed!

To park visitors, if you see the fawn in the park- please view from a distance!

🐔 Vendor Spotlight: Pecking Pastures 🐔

We're excited to welcome Pecking Pastures to the first Community Market at Boardman Park on June 27- for one day only!

What started with a few backyard chickens in 2019 quickly grew into a farm. Tricia and her flock of 50+ happy, free-ranging chickens are living their best lives, enjoying plenty of space, fresh air, and treats along the way.

Pecking Pastures is rooted in a love of self-sufficiency, gardening, and sustainable living. Be sure to stop by their table early to meet one of our featured local farm vendors and learn more about their story.

📅 June 27 | 9 AM – 1 PM

This is just one of the many amazing vendors joining us this summer. More vendor spotlights coming soon!

🇺🇸 A Different Way to Celebrate Independence Day 🇺🇸

This year's Veterans' Night at Music in the Park is designed with veterans, service members, and their families in mind.

On July 2nd, join us at the Maag Outdoor Arts Theatre for an evening of live music featuring American Made Band, along with veteran organizations, outreach groups, and representatives from Veteran Affairs who will be available to connect with attendees.

**What makes this event different?**

There will be no fireworks presented by the park for this night of Music in the Park. While fireworks are a tradition for many Independence Day celebrations, we recognize that loud and unexpected explosions can be difficult for some veterans living with PTSD, as well as service animals and other guests sensitive to noise.

Instead, we're offering an opportunity to celebrate American pride in a welcoming outdoor setting with room to spread out, relax on the lawn, enjoy great music, and connect with fellow community members.

🎆📣 For those looking for a traditional fireworks celebration, Boardman Park will host fireworks later in the month during Boardman Community Day | Celebrating America's 250th Anniversary on July 18 (about 2 weeks later!). That event will feature fireworks, community spirit, and a celebration of both America's 250th anniversary and the pride that makes Boardman such a special place to call home.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket and join us for an evening of live music on the lawn as we celebrate Independence Day a little differently on July 2nd.

🎶 Music by American Made Band

All are welcome.
